Virgin Galactic Flightpath Film
VFX and Animation for Virgin Galactic’s Unity 22 Launch Livestream Event
Flightpath Film
Broadcast during the Virgin Galactic Unity 22 Launch Livestream during which Sir Richard Branson boarded VSS Unity for the Virgin Galactic experience.
This film describes the technology and experience of flying in VSS Unity, the Virgin Galactic spacecraft as it launches from the New Mexico desert at Spaceport America.
Through 25 VFX and Animation shots, the film describes several aspects of the spacecraft’s Flightpath from Launch to Landing.
For the Drop and Launch effects we used accurate altitude modelling. It was a real blast learning all about the breakthrough technology in the VSS Unity spacecraft and bringing it to life!

The spacecraft was constructed with a huge attention to detail including thermal cladding and the stunning teal livery, designed by Mark Bonner of /B.randed.
Congratulations to Sir Richard Branson on his historic and massively successful launch!
