Ice Towers in the Desert

Earlier this year we were tasked to create some effects shots to illustrate the pioneering work of Sonam Wangchuk and how Ice Stupas are formed as an ingenious way to store water in high altitude regions of the world.  The effects were created using particle systems to accurately simulate the ice buildup and formation of the stupa.
